permissions issue with my Node.js server
Posted by jabi in websites.
Hello Wispbyte Support, I’m experiencing a permissions issue with my Node.js server. My application runs as UID and GID , but is owned by UID and GID with permissions . As a result, Node.js cannot create or modify files in and reports . This prevents my application from extracting and saving its configuration. I verified the following: Downloads from GitHub work successfully. The downloaded ZIP file passes integrity checks. and are writable by the Node.js process. The File Manager lets me upload and edit files in , but the running Node.js process cannot write there. Could you please investigate and correct the ownership and permissions of so the server’s runtime user can write to the appropriate directory? I would appreciate your help resolving this issue. Thank you.

With owned by and set to , UID cannot write there. This points to a server mount/permissions issue, not a failed GitHub download. The File Manager’s access doesn’t necessarily match the runtime process, and you generally can’t fix ownership from inside the container. Please share the node name , support tag (next to the console), and the exact line with any secrets removed. Free server users can ask in the Wispbyte Discord; premium users can open a support ticket. Don’t post tokens or contents.
