Filesystem permission issue

Posted by user_ns2fg9 in discord-bots.

Hello Wispbyte Support, My Node.js Discord bot suddenly stopped starting after I deleted its previous files and uploaded the bot again. The default startup command now fails with: EACCES: permission denied, mkdir '/home/container/.npm' Previously, changing npm's cache to /tmp also failed with: EACCES: permission denied, mkdir '/home/container/node modules' I have already: Reset the startup command to default. Removed the bot files and uploaded them again. Confirmed that package.json is present. Tried changing the npm cache directory. Please investigate and repair the ownership and write permissions of /home/container recursively for my server's container runtime user, including the .npm and node modules directories. The missing discord.js error is happening because npm cannot install the dependencies. Thank you.

The errors mean npm can’t write to the server’s files; is only missing because the install fails. Since resetting Startup and reuploading didn’t clear it: 1. Stop the server and delete (including hidden files) and from Files , if they exist. 2. Confirm is listed in , then start the server once with the default startup command. If you can’t delete those folders, or the same error returns, post the node name, support tag, and startup output from pressing Start until it stops (remove any tokens). See Startup Settings.
