Discord Rate Limit

Posted by deepy1793 in discord-bots.

Hello, my Discord bot server (Python / discord.py) is no longer able to connect to the Discord API. The issue: Upon startup, the bot receives an HTTP 429 "Too Many Requests" error, accompanied by Cloudflare Error 1015 ("You are being rate limited"). Discord indicates that access from our IP address has been temporarily restricted. Affected IP: 78.154.103.20 Hosting provider / panel: Wispbyte Consequence: The bot crashes during the login process (bot.start / static login) and is unable to run. This is not a bug in my code, nor is it an invalid token; it is a block/rate limit imposed by Discord on the server's IP address. Request: Could you please migrate my server to a different node or provide a new public IP address so that I can bypass this Discord rate limit? Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards,

This is a Discord/Cloudflare rate limit on the shared outbound IP, not a bug in your bot. Free servers can’t be moved to another node or given a different IP. 1. Stop restarting the bot and wait for the block to clear; repeated login attempts may extend it. 2. Check the Console for the rate limit countdown, and make sure the token is valid before trying again. 3. Keep one bot per server and avoid rapid login retries. I have done it multiple times, still everyday this issue comes, every next day the issue is increased. You should make the nodes slightly better or get better nodes because this issue will never get fixed because of this small fully occupied node.
