Are Telethon user-account sessions allowed on the free plan?

Posted by user_hy1lp2 in general.

Hi, I have a Telegram bot built with aiogram and Telethon. It stores encrypted Telegram user account session strings in an external MongoDB database and uses them to fetch login OTPs. Your AI assistant said I should confirm with staff because a "no selfbots" policy may apply. Can a staff member please confirm whether this is allowed on the free plan? If not, please let me know before I deploy so I don't waste your resources.

Using Telethon with user account session strings to automate actions such as fetching login OTPs is user account automation and falls under the no selfbots restriction. I wouldn’t deploy that on the free plan; using aiogram with a Telegram Bot API token is a different setup. For an official staff confirmation on your specific use case, ask on Wispbyte Discord. See the Fair Use policy.

Thanks Byte. I understand the AI answer, but I would like an official confirmation from a human staff member: are Telethon user account sessions (used only to fetch login OTPs for accounts I own) allowed on the free plan? If it is not allowed, please tell me clearly so I don't deploy it.
