Discord Bot Unable to Connect – HTTP 429 Rate Limit Error

Posted by sassyule in general.

Hello, I'm having an issue with my Discord bot hosted on Wispbyte. My bot was previously working, but now it fails to log in and returns: HTTP 429 Too Many Requests The error occurs during Discord authentication at "/users/@me". I have already left the server stopped for over an hour, and I am not repeatedly restarting it. The bot is not running anywhere else. My server details: Server name: Haze Time Node: FREE EU RO 09 Could you please check whether the outbound IP address assigned to my server is currently being restricted by Discord/Cloudflare (Error 1015)? If it is, is there a way to resolve this or move my server to an unaffected node? I would appreciate help resolving this without having to rebuild or replace my bot. Thank you.

A 429 during is consistent with Discord rate limiting the shared outbound IP used by free servers on that node. Leaving the bot stopped for an hour may not be enough; these limits can last several hours, and Cloudflare 1015 blocks can last up to about a day. 1. Keep it stopped and avoid repeated login attempts; check Discord’s or header if your logs include it. 2. Confirm the token is valid before trying again, and make sure the bot isn’t retrying logins in a loop. 3. Free servers can’t be moved to another node or given a different IP. See Discord rate limits.

I checked the token. Should be correct. Working on ensuring I don't have any loops at the very moment. Wait a day? Are you serious! Find another service maybe holy cow a day.

I get why that’s frustrating—sorry, I didn’t mean to suggest you must wait a full day. Many limits clear sooner; up to about 24 hours is the worst case for a Cloudflare 1015 block, not a guaranteed wait. If the 429 includes a value, follow that and make one login attempt after it expires. If you need the bot online sooner, you could temporarily run it from a different network or host, but stop the Wispbyte instance first so only one copy is trying to log in. For a free server, changing nodes or getting a different outbound IP isn’t available.

I have been waiting 2 days i think its a internal error.
