Discord IP is always getting limited 😔

Posted by user_cysh3u in bugs.

Hello, my Discord bot hosting node keeps getting IP rate limited by Discord. The dashboard says: "Discord is rate limiting this node's IP — clears in about 881 min." This is repeatedly stopping my bot from connecting to Discord. Could you please: 1. Check whether other customers are causing excessive Discord API traffic on this shared IP. 2. Check whether my server's public IP has been restricted. 3. Move my server to another node or provide a different public IP if possible. 4. Investigate whether this is a shared IP issue. Thank you.

This is a Discord rate limit on the shared node IP, not necessarily a restriction on your bot. Free servers on the same node share an outbound IP, so another bot’s traffic can affect yours. 1. Wait for the countdown to clear; avoid restarting repeatedly, since each login attempt can prolong the block. 2. Check that your token is valid and that your bot isn’t retrying logins in a loop. 3. Free servers can’t be moved to another node or given a different IP. If the block lasts more than a day, contact Wispbyte on Discord. More details: Discord rate limits.
