Discord Bot 429 Cloudflare IP Block Request

Posted by user_1nyp0n in general.

My Discord bot hosted is currently unable to connect to Discord API. It keeps throwing discord.errors.HTTPException: 429 Too Many Requests with a Cloudflare "Access Denied" error page. I have already removed the global command sync from my code and left the bot offline for over 30 minutes, but the issue persists. It seems that the server's IP address has been heavily rate limited or blacklisted by Discord/Cloudflare due to shared IP neighborhood activity. Anyone knows what should I do?

This is likely a Discord/Cloudflare block on the node’s shared outbound IP, not your bot code. Removing command sync won’t clear an IP level block, and 30 minutes may not be long enough—it can last for hours, sometimes up to 24 hours. 1. Stop restarting the bot while the block is active; wait for the or time, if shown. 2. If you’re on a premium server, open a ticket and include the node name: https://wispbyte.com/client/tickets 3. For a free server, the fix is to wait; free servers can’t be moved to a different IP. More details: https://wispbyte.com/kb/discord rate limits
